Refurbished cellular phone-HTC One launch delay: Blame camera shortfall, HTC says

Refurbished cellular phone-HTC One launch delay: Blame camera shortfall, HTC says

Chief marketing officer Benjamin Ho blames the delay of the company's new smartphone on a shortage of cameras.

The HTC One.
The HTC One.

The launch of the HTC One has been stymied by a limited supply of cameras.
HTC chief marketing officer Benjamin Ho confirmed the component shortage in an interview with the Wall Street Journal yesterday.
"Our friends in the media have been asking why there has been a delay in shipments for the new HTC One, whether there is a component shortage," Ho said. "There is some shortage, because the phone's camera was designed specifically for us, and production cannot be ramped up so quickly."
Ho's comments echoed those of an "unnamed HTC executive," who told the Journal last week that the phone would be delayed because of trouble getting parts for the camera. But the unnamed exec also pinned the blame on HTC's falling status among suppliers.
"The company has a problem managing its component suppliers as it has changed its order forecasts drastically and frequently following last year's unexpected slump in shipments," the executive said. "HTC has had difficulty in securing adequate camera components as it is no longer a tier-one customer."
On Friday, the company announced that the HTC One would finally pop up in the U.K., Germany, and Taiwan this week, followed by North America, Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, and most other markets by the end of April
Ho was frank about HTC's failure to generate enough marketing buzz about its phones.
"We have a lot of innovations but we haven't been loud enough," Ho told the Journal. The company plans to drop its "Quietly Brilliant" tagline as part of a move toward a bolder marketing strategy. HTC will also devote more dollars to promote its products, upping its 2013 digital marketing budget by 250 percent from last year, and raising its spending on traditional media marketing by 100 percent.
The HTC One has already garnered a fair number of positive reviews, including MYLAN CELLULAR'S own take on the phone.
But HTC has been overshadowed by Samsung, which has thrown a great deal of weight into promoting its flagship phones, notably the new Galaxy S4.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S4 with a big Broadway-style event in New York City on March 14. HTC managed to get a playful bite of the action beforehand, offering Pringles chips and bottled water on HTC-branded trays to the many people waiting to get into the event.

HTC One wows with stunning design, premium parts

Buy unlocked cell phones-Guy Kawasaki confirms customizable hardware on X Phone?

It has been very high profile that Google and Motorla are working on X Phone which will be unveiled at the Google I/O the coming May 2013. Around a week before this post, there were reportedly rumors about the customizable hardware of x phone surrounding the technology news. This rumors have some latest development to prove it might be real.
Consultant of Motorola, Guy Kawasaki (Apple’s former principal sales officer) recently posted on his Google + page implying the existence of such rumor. Users could, according to their preference, ale changes to the bumpers, color coating…etc on their cars but why not phones? Why can’t smartphones be more personalized?
We knew from our previous posts that the Motorola X is a series of super smartphones and the X phone might be the original of all. The X Phone would be sold online at the Google Play Store where customers could personalize the X Phone in terms of its colour, adware specification, user interface themes and even ringtones. If possible, users could even choose between processors.
One more confirmed rumors about the X Phone is the stamina of battery will be much improved. It would go from the planned 3300 mAh to 4200 mAh (with wireless charging). In addition, the x phone will also ship with the Android 5.0 system.

Mylan Cellular | March 17, 2013
Here at Android Headlines we know that the world of Android spreads farther than just the shores of the United States. As a UK resident I don’t just want to hear about what’s going on in the States and we know we have a large following all over the world so, we’re going to be bringing the bigger stories of the week from around the world together all in one post with the first edition of Android Headlines’ Droid Worldwide Weekly. Hopefully we’ll get all of the International Info you want to hear about!
Neo N003 is World’s Cheapest Full HD Smartphone
Neo-N003-1080p

Chinese Android fans looking for Full HD smartphones have something to rejoice about in the Neo N003 which is launching soon in China for just $145 US, that’s an incredible price! Especially when you consider some pretty decent specs for that price: 5-inch full HD display (1,920 x 1080 resolution), a quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor clocked at 1.3GHz, 1GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera and a sizable 3,000 mAh battery. Not bad for such a low price, right?

Buy cell phone cheap-Apple answers Galaxy S4 launch with new iPhone campaign

Apple answers Galaxy S4 launch with new iPhone campaign-buy cell phone cheap..

New page on Apple's site provides a laundry list of things that supposedly set the iPhone apart. Is the company feeling the heat from Samsung?

Samsung's just-launched Galaxy S4 is nothing special -- it's simply another member of the wannabe-iPhone crowd. At least that's what Apple would have you believe by way of a new marketing effort for its storied handset.
"There's iPhone. And then there's everything else." reads the headline on a Web page added to Apple's site today -- two days after Samsung trotted out the S4 during a splashy (and, to some, rather puzzling) event at New York's Radio City Music Hall.
The Apple Web page -- reachable by way of a button on the Apple home page and an e-mail sent to customers -- amounts to a scrollable laundry list of the things that supposedly place the iPhone above the competition. And the list may well have been influenced by Samsung's new gadget. Among other things, the rundown:
  • Seems to take a potshot at what some have called the Galaxy line's "plastic-y" feel, saying that with the iPhone, "Every detail and every material -- particularly the sleek aluminum enclosure -- has been meticulously considered and refined."
  • Touts the iPhone's Retina display. Samsung's smartphones have been dinged in the past for oversaturated, candied colors (though at least one observer says the S4 is a different animal in this regard).
  • Takes a swipe at "other smartphones" that, while discussing camera quality "simply tout large amounts of megapixels" (the iPhone's shooter -- "the world's most popular," Apple claims -- is 8 megapixels; the S4's is 13).
  • Trumpets the number of apps available for the iPhone, saying that the iOS operating system is "the platform for over 800,000 apps that let your iPhone do even more." If nothing else, the S4 is jammed full of new software features.
Is the new Web page a sign that Apple is sweating a bit when it comes to how phone buyers will answer the question "Does the S4 make the iPhone 5 look lame?" We'll let you be the judge of that.
