Neo N003 is World’s Cheapest Full HD Smartphone
Chinese Android fans looking for Full HD smartphones have something to rejoice about in the Neo N003 which is launching soon in China for just $145 US, that’s an incredible price! Especially when you consider some pretty decent specs for that price: 5-inch full HD display (1,920 x 1080 resolution), a quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor clocked at 1.3GHz, 1GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera and a sizable 3,000 mAh battery. Not bad for such a low price, right?
Pantech Vega No. 6 to Launch in Hong Kong
When the Pantech Vega No. 6 was announced in South Korea, it was thought it wasn’t going to make it out of the country but, the device is now to launch in Hong Kong for around 5,980 HKD. If you missed the announcement in the first place, the Vega 6 is a big phone with a lot of power in it: a 5.9 inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixels. It comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, LTE connectivity, NFC, 2MP front-facing camera, a 13MP camera on the back, quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory (expandable via MicroSD), and a decent 3,140 mAh battery.
LG Optimus L7 II Headed to Germany for €249
The flagship of LG’s budget minded range is to launch in Germany for just €249. For that low-price you can expect to get a device that comes with the following: a 4.3-inch 480 x 800 Display, a dual-core 1 Ghz CPU, 768MB of RAM, 4GB of memory with a MicroSD Card slot, a 2,460 mAh battery and an 8MP camera along with all the rest. It’s a good price for a device like this but, it is a shame about the low-resolution display and small amount of RAM.
Clove Begins to Offer HTC One Accessories in the UK
The HTC One might not be available just yet but UK retailer Clove is to offer official accessories from HTC. There’s a screen protector that costs £6, the hard shell cases run for £14.99 and the Car Kit that comes with dock and car charger is a pricey £44.99.
Lenovo’s Intel-packing K900 Could Launch in China Next Month for a Lower Price
Lenovo’s massive 5.5-inch smartphone is a powerful machine and it was thought to be pretty pricey as well but, it could be launching for as little as $485 US. There’s a Full HD Display, an Intel Atom Z2580 clocked at 2.0 Ghz, 2GB of RAM, 13MP camera, 16GB of storage with room for an SD card and Android 4.2. All of this comes in at 6.9 mm thin!
Gionee Dream D1 Launches in India
Chinese smartphone manufacturer Gionee has launched the Dream D1 in India for 17,999 Rs and for that price you get a 4.6g-inch Super AMOLED display at 1280 x 720, quad-core Cortex A7 CPU at 1.2 Ghz, Android 4.1,m 1GB of RAM with MicroSD card slot and an 8MP camera. That’s a lot of phone for a fairly decent price but that AMOLED display might not be for everyone.
Xiaomi Expects to Sell 15 Million Smartphones This Year
Android fans in China might know and love Xiaomi for the Mi2 and past devices, as well as the MIUI Custom ROM. The company has been making waves in the past couple of years and in 2013 they hope to sell as many as 15 Million handsets. That’s a lot of sales for a company Xiaomi, can they do it?
Acer to Bring Intel-powered Smartphones to the Philippines Soon
Intel have been slowly progressing the rollout of their chips more and more and they’re making some more partners as well. Acer is one of them and they’re going to be launching the Acer Liquid C1 in the Philippines any minute now that comes with a Clover Trail+ chip from Intel. The smartphone comes with a 4.3-inch qHD display, support for HSPA+, an 8 MP cmaera and the Atom Z2420 at 1.2 Ghz which is sia dot be extremely power-efficient.
Huawei Ascend D2 to Hit China Unicom and China Telecom
The Ascend D2 was always going to launch in China first and those that are looking out for the device will surely know all of its specs by now. Pricing was the big question that remained unanswered and now it’s come to light. Both China Unicom and China Telecom will be carrying the device for 3,780 Yuan and 3,990 Yuan respectively. That works out at around $600 to $640 US.
Samsung Galaxy Y Plus Coming to India Soon
The Galaxy Y has been a successful low-end brand for Samsung and with the Y Plus they aren’t breaking from convention much at all. The Y Plus will come packing a small 2.8-inch display at 240 x 320, a single-core CPU at 850 Mhz, a 2MP camera, 4GB of storage with room for MicroSD cards and a 1,200 mAh battery. The device is light at 100 grams and will ship with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Certainly not a flagship device but, it will retail for just 8,000 RS
RAZR D1 and D3 Confirmed for Brazilian Launch, Specs Here
Two new RAZR devices are heading to Brazil from Motorola, the D1 and the D3, they’re not the best devices in the world but they will keep a low-price tag. The RAZR D1 will come with the following:
- 3.5-inch touchscreen display
- With or without analogical and digital TV
- Single or Dual-SIM versions
- 1,785mAh battery capacity
- 1GHz processor.
- 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory and supports a microSD card up to 32GB
- Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
As for the D3, things get a little more exciting:
- 4-inch touch screen display
- Single or Dual-SIM versions
- 2,000mAh battery capacity
- 1.2GHz dual-core processor
- 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory and supports a microSD card up to 32GB
- Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
Both devices will come in either white or black and cost R$549 and R$799 for the D1 and D3, respectively.
Vivo Xplay Announced, Snapdragon 600 and more for $600 US
It’s been a long time coming but, Vivo have officially announced the Xplay, a quality Android device from China, with specs you’d expect from HTC or Samsung. There’s a 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 APQ8064T processor with an Adreno 320 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. There’s a 13 MP camera, a 3,200 mAh battery and a 5-inch Full HD Display inside as well. Three different audio chips will help provide a stunning audio experience as well. Pricing is to be around 3599 Yuan for the device, which roughly works out at $600 US.
